Why this is different here
HDB began planning the Jurong West new town in 1984, and the first flats in the wider Jurong area were completed at Taman Jurong in 1963. Flats of that generation are on their original riser and branch pipework unless it has since been replaced, so the recurring jobs here are corrosion pinholes, seized stop valves and chokes at old joints rather than fitting failures.
